Solomon's United Church of Christ

"the church on a mission"

From The Pastor

Dear Solomon’s UCC Family and Friends,

May God‘s peace be with you in this new season of Autumn! It seems hard to comprehend that it could be Fall already. It is time for the world to be transformed into the most amazing colors and fresh scents! And it is time for the many fun Autumn activities. What are your favorite Autumn foods and activities?

I read a saying about how in Autumn, the leaves will show us the beauty of letting go. Letting go is often very difficult, but definitely a part of life. We struggle to hold on; we struggle to let go. We can ask God to help us accept what we have had to let go of and to embrace what is ours to hold onto in this season of our lives. And we never have to let go of the love we feel for our loved ones, whether they are here or in heaven.

We can clean out our closets, our cupboards, our workshops, our garages, but can we clean out our hearts? Can we let go of resentments and grudges? Can we let go of our grief and pain? Jesus can help us let go gently to heal and be transformed.

Jesus asks us to follow him. He sees the beauty and blessings in us as we make room for the new roads ahead. Let us find the beauty of this season! Let us find the courage to help one another through these demanding times. Jesus needs us to be a comfort and an encouragement to one another. Let us hold on to one another and let go of our fear! God is with us always.

You are beautiful and you are a blessing! Jesus loves you and so do I!

Blessings always,

Pastor Marian
